Huntsville Team
DR. TYLER GEISE
Dr. Tyler Geise is a native of Florence, Alabama and graduated from the University of Alabama where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology and also completed graduate coursework in bacteriology and immunology. In 2011, he graduated from the UAB School of Dentistry during which time he worked in the Oral Diagnosis Clinic and also interned for the CaRES cancer research program - in the department of Head and Neck Oncology.
After earning his dental degree, he chose to practice in North Alabama due to his love for the area and proximity to family. While practicing, he has continued to expand his knowledge in the dental field by being actively involved in the dental community and participation in both local and national dental societies. Additionally, he has participated in dental mission trips to the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Costa Rica as a member of the Christian Medical Ministry of Alabama and also volunteers locally in dental care outreach.
Dr. Geise and his wife, Diane, met in dental school after they were introduced by Dr. Geise’s classmate, who also happened to be Diane’s sister. They have been married for two blissful years and live in Madison. They are active members of Hazel Green Methodist Church, where his father is the senior pastor. Dr. Geise spends his leisure time reading, running, travelling and spending time with family. He also enjoys participating as a member of the Outcasts men’s soccer team in the HASL soccer league of Huntsville.
DR. MANN
Michael E. Mann, DMD has been practicing as a family dentist for almost 40 years, and is proud to share that experience with the people of the Tennessee Valley. His practice has given him the opportunity to help people improve their health and appearance. Dr. Mann loves seeing people who are frightened of dental treatment become more relaxed each time they come to the office. He also gets to meet people from all walks of life, age groups, occupations, and experiences. Dr. Mann feels that everyone knows something that he doesn't, so he loves getting to know people and learning from them.
Dr. Mann attended The University of Alabama, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and an Army ROTC Officer's Commission.
He then continued his education on an Army scholarship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry, where he earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree. The doctor then proudly served 7 years on active duty in Louisiana, Germany, and Redstone Arsenal, and then an additional 10 years as an Army reservist.
He also participates in many hours of continuing education each year, including courses in sleep apnea, digital imaging, and restorative materials, as well as procedures in infection control. He has particular interest in treating Sleep Disordered Breathing and sees patients in two local sleep clinics.
He participates in ground-breaking clinical research with the National Dental Practice Based Research Network, under the direction of the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Mann believes that it is only by being a lifetime student that he can offer his patients both proven treatment options and advice on what will best to suit their individual goals and needs.
Dr. Mann is originally from Birmingham and has lived in Huntsville for the past 34 years. He has been married to his wonderful wife for 41 years. They have one married daughter who is a nurse in the interventional radiology and heart catherization clinic. Their other daughter is a black, white, and tan Springer Spaniel. When not in the office, he enjoys doing home improvement projects, traveling, and supporting Alabama athletics. Dr. Mann stays in touch with the University by serving as Vice President of his fraternity Alumni Association. He is a member of the First Baptist Church Huntsville and has served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and is currently a Trustee. He is also a director of the live television broadcast and streams on Sunday mornings. He has enjoyed numerous dental missions, providing much-needed dental care to people in Brazil, Guatemala, Gambia, Senegal, and Guinea.
KATY
Katy has been in the medical/dental field for 12 years. She started out in the medical specialty field and then joined our dental practice and Dr. Mann in 2013. Katy relates that the knowledge she has obtained from her time in our office is invaluable.
Katy enjoys interacting with patients, whether it is greeting patients at the front desk, assisting patients over the phone, or inputting patient insurance information. Katy is a people-person, and her top priority is making sure our patients leave with a smile.
In her spare time, Katy enjoys spending time with her husband and family, reading, watching Netflix or Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, and shopping. She is a coffee nut - especially Dunkin - and can usually be found with a mug in her hands.
BRENDA
Brenda is one of the first people you will meet when you visit Geise Dental. She has been with the practice for over 9 years. She always greets our patients with a warm welcome, and she is eager to help
in any way possible. Brenda keeps our office running efficiently by keeping records, scheduling patient appointments, and assisting our patients over the phone.
In her free time, Brenda enjoys maintaining her garden, playing with her dogs, and traveling to the beach.
LORI
Lori is our hygienist from the West Coast, more specifically from Carmel, California. She met her husband who was in the Army and stationed in Monterey, California. After marrying, they moved to the
Huntsville area and have a son Marshall.
Lori has been in the dental field since 1987. She started her dental career as an assistant in orthodontics, and then continued her training in the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program and became a hygienist in 1990. Meeting wonderful people everyday and helping patients with their dental needs is what Lori enjoys most about being a hygienist. Even when Lori has time off from treating patients at our office, she volunteers at the Huntsville free dental clinic and provides people in her neighborhood with transportation to have their dental needs addressed.
Lori is an animal enthusiast. She regularly fosters animals of all kinds and volunteers at the animal rescue centers. Fishing, hiking, and being on the water are all activities she enjoys in her leisure time.
LISA
Lisa is a dental hygienist with over 35 years of experience, in both general dentistry and periodontics. Lisa has been treating our patients with great care since 2014. She was trained by her father Dr. Phillip A Christia, who was a dentist in the Huntsville area for many years.
Lisa enjoys people; she has formed many lasting relationships with her patients. Lisa gets great satisfaction out of working with patients, who are generally anxious about dental visits, and making their experiences positive. Working with her special needs patients is very fulfilling to her, and she especially cherishes them. Making all of her patients comfortable and relaxed is a top priority for her.
Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family. Camping, hiking, horseback riding, and rafting are some of her favorite activities.
MINDY
Mindy has been a great asset to our office for 23 years and has been in the dental field for the last 25 years. Mindy is a US Military veteran; it was in the military where she started her journey in the dental field. She began her career as an assistant and later went on to become a dental hygienist. Mindy also stands out in the office as our only staff member fluent in German.
Mindy’s passion is to earn her patients’ trust and guide them to excellent oral hygiene, which will in turn contribute to their overall health. With this treatment philosophy and state-of-the-art equipment, she has gained an ardent following of patients and has made many friends and watched families as they have grown.
Mindy enjoys traveling to all corners of the world, going to movies, and spending time in her garden. Mindy uses the analogy of her garden to her patients when she says, “It’s satisfying to watch my garden grow and flourish, just as I have watched my patients grow and flourish over the years.”
CHRISTY
Christy started in dentistry in 1994 as a dental assistant. After eight years of assisting, she decided to take her skills and career to the next level at the encouragement of her bosses. Having worked with
Christy for an extended period of time, they witnessed firsthand her care for and confidence with the patient, her understanding of dentistry, and her ability to effectively communicate to both patient and dentist--all skills that are critical to being a top-notch dental hygienist and a big reason that her daily schedule is constantly packed with Christy-only patients.
Outside of the dental office, Christy’s primary focus is her family. Married in 2010, she has two children of her own and a “bonus” daughter that she picked up in the deal. As such, she is now fully qualified for her next career as an Uber driver. Her personal taxi service for Remington and Lakelee includes daily trips to the dance studio and the ice rink.
Over the last six years, Christy has become a card-carrying “hockey mom.” She has endured six a.m. games, stale popcorn, and the smelliest of hockey gear since 2010. But let’s be clear: she has enjoyed every minute of it. So, if you have any questions about the game -- icing, offsides, or how to finish a check -- she’s got you covered.
When not working or supporting her family, you’ll typically find Christy working out in the gym or pounding out miles on the road training for her next half marathon. She’s very competitive and loves the challenge of a physically demanding “boot camp” fitness class or working the heavy bag like an MMA professional. If you happen to see her running on the streets of downtown Huntsville, she’s likely training for the St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend. As a St. Jude family, she spearheads the family fundraising each year before the December race, as the entire family gives back to the hospital that has done so much for them.
BECKY
Becky is the clinical assistant at Geise Dental. Even though she has been with the practice for 16 years, to her it feels like a much shorter time. As the saying goes, “Time flies when you are having fun.” It makes her happy to be able to help our patients maintain and improve their dental health.
Becky is currently pursuing her degree in dental hygiene at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. As a student in the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program, she was awarded with the Most Outstanding Academic Achievement Award. She is looking forward to earning her degree and is excited that she will be able to offer our patients more comprehensive care in addition to her stellar attention to patient comfort and her vast dental knowledge.
Outside of work, Becky is a homebody who likes to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoys reading, walking in the woods, and cooking with her husband.
